(Un)Common Worlds – Human-Animal Studies Conference, 7–9 August 2018, Turku

The Finnish Society for Human-Animal Studies (YKES) organizes the first international Human-Animal Studies conference held in Finland. The theme for the upcoming conference is (Un)common worlds: Contesting the limits of human-animal communities. The conference’s keynote speakers are Professor Erica Fudge, Associate Professor Jamie Lorimer and zoologist and non-fiction writer Helena Telkänranta. More information about the conference is available in the conference website: https://uncommonworlds.wordpress.com/

YKES has previously organized six national human-animal studies conferences (Eläintutkimuspäivät). In 2018, the international conference is organized in place of the annual national conference.
